Paul presents at the Sports Awards


Paul joined a host of sports stars recently for the Leicester Mercury Sports Awards. The event was held at the Tigers’ ground, in Welford Road, and there was something for the hosts to celebrate as Tom Youngs landed the Sportsman of the Year prize. Paul was joined by fellow former Leicestershire cricketer, Will Jefferson, to hand Lizzie Warner “Junior Sportswoman” of the year award. More information here.

Jamaica Tallawahs lift inaugural CPL title


The Tallawahs, coached by Paul Nixon, defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain on August 24, 2013 by seven wickets with 15 balls remaining to win the inaugural edition of the Caribbean Premier League. The final saw three brilliant bowling performances – Tallawahs’ Vernon Philander (3-0-8-0) and Muttiah Muralitharan (4-0-13-0); and Sunil Narine of Warriors who had figures of 4-0-9-0.   Photos courtesy of CPL T20 Ltd
